Telehealth & Online Counselling
Life in Ballarat and the wider Grampians region can be busy, unpredictable and—at times—geographically spread out.
Stacey Black’s Telehealth & Online Counselling service delivers the same evidence-based care you’d receive in-clinic, with the added convenience of attending from your lounge, office or even a parked car on your lunch break.
Telehealth is not a “second-best” option. Studies from the Australian Psychological Society show online therapy to be as effective as face-to-face treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship issues when delivered by a registered, clinically trained psychologist.
Stacey uses a purpose-built, end-to-end encrypted video platform that meets Australian Privacy Principles, so you can speak freely and know your information stays between the two of you.
Why Ballarat Locals Choose Telehealth

Evening and early-morning appointments fit around nurses, paramedics and factory teams
-

Comfort & Privacy
Some clients feel safer sharing difficult topics from a familiar environment. Pets on laps welcome!

Safety, Privacy & Confidentiality
Stacey’s platform is ISO 27001 compliant and encrypted to the same standard used by Australian banks. Sessions are not recorded unless you specifically request and authorise it in writing. Stacey conducts every telehealth appointment from her private consulting room in Drummond Street; headphones are worn and the door is locked for additional privacy.
Emergencies are rare, but a safety protocol is in place. You’ll be asked to provide your physical location at the start of each session. If a critical risk arises, Stacey can coordinate with local crisis teams, Lifeline (13 11 14) or the Ballarat Mental Health Triage Service (1300 247 647) in real time.
Medicare Rebate & Fees
Telehealth psychology is covered under the Medicare Better Access program when you have a current Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or psychiatrist. Rebates currently sit at $141.85 for a standard 50-minute clinical session.
Stacey’s telehealth fee structure is identical to her in-person fees, and HICAPS online claiming means your rebate is processed automatically—no extra paperwork. Private health insurance, TAC, WorkSafe and NDIS (self-managed or plan-managed) can also be billed for eligible clients.
